About the Role
The Director of Finance will play a critical role in managing the school’s financial operations and strategy. This position reports directly to the Principal and collaborates closely with the Regional Finance Director based in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial planning and analytical expertise, preferably with experience in a private school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure financial performance aligns with forecasts.
- Drive short- and long-term financial planning, including scenario modeling and real estate planning.
- Implement and monitor financial controls to safeguard assets.
- Oversee month-end close and statutory accounts.
- Manage internal controls and lead audits (Group and local statutory).
- Prepare Capex reports, weekly KPIs, and cash collection reports.
- Present accurate management accounts and financial statements to leadership and governors.
- Manage procurement processes to ensure best value.
- Oversee supplier contracts and agreements.
- Provide timely financial insights to principals and budget holders.
- Liaise with parents, staff, and external stakeholders on financial matters.
- Represent the school in regional operations meetings.
- Partner with operations teams on procurement and vendor management.
- Develop and manage AP and AR functions, ensuring timely billing and cash collection.
- Drive team development, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
- Oversee payroll in collaboration with HR.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accounting standards.
- Continuously improve financial processes and maintain alignment with SOPs.
